People know this prestigious brand as "C.P. Lagdiwala", the pioneer firm for gold/silver melting, refining, testing, along with its manufacturing, since 1927, long before India's independence.
Mr. Chunilal Pujabhai Kansara(1920), who knew fundamentals and principles of metallurgy started and established the golden sun of "C.P. Kansara". The first and foremost organization which served and provided the best quality work in gold/silver melting, refining and testing.
Inspired by him, another intellectual figure, Shree Babubhai Krishnalal Kansara fondly known as 'Babukaka' handled the entire firm, absorbing the responsibilities of marketing, public relations and Q.C. With deep knowledge of principles of metallurgy, specifically in the core branch of mineral refining industry, he refined large quantity of gold using cupellation and parting method when gold was becoming a prime commodity in India. So, mint traders and masters, from round the country came to him, seeking the knowledge that only came from the experience in field. Between 1950 - 1980, the only method used for refining gold/silver was 'Black Stone Touch' method, locally known as 'Kasoti'. Only C.P. Kansara used internationally approved cyanide method for purification. As a result, lots of government officials came to him and shared their quota of knowledge with him, making him more mature in this field and gave him an insight to how the traditional and modern Indian gold market functioned.
